Howdy Folks!! The waggons are rolling...are you ready for a hoedown?
Trailer Trash are back at the Beatherder ranch with a good, bad and downright ugly variety show for your entertainment.
Building on our success at last year's Beatherder, this time 'round we'll be creating a plush wild-west themed saloon bar & cocktail lounge in the middle of the Lancashire countryside.
Although orientated towards the more laidback end of the musical spectrum, you can also expect some serious dancefloor action when the daylight fades.
Trailer Trash residents Pat Trash, Annie, Lindsey, Peach, Red J, Fraser, Kim and the Brothers Deane will be joined in the saloon bar by the following:
Spinning upfront tunage from their own Midnight Recordings imprint, the bopper boys promise to deliver a melodic techno rinse-out featuring new material soon to be remixed by Mark Broom & the mighty Alex Under
Paul is head honcho of the nomadic Lancashire based club-night Itch. His blend of hip-hop, soul, funk, broken-beat & house has seen him playing alongside RSL, Treva Whateva, Domu and Diesler as well as hosting his own radio show on Preston FM.
Often seen meditating over trays of sacraficial food offerings & stroking his beard in deep thought, Turner is oracle to the techno tribes of Wakey. Ask him a question and he will answer, step from the path and he will guide you. Dare to disagree and you will be proved wrong and shamed before his acolytes. Such is the power and glory of Turner - the oracle of Wakey!
Joe is part of the mighty Heavy Crates collective. His musical tastes vary, but he promises to entertain with a blend of soulful sounds taking in hip-hop and a little chilled funk too. All we need now is some nice sunny weather.
Head honcho of Lancashire's Distroy label & stalwart of the Lancashire alternative scene. Paul is currently a resident at Circus Circus in Preston but he also regularly plays guest slots around Northern England. His preferred style is an eclectic mixture of sleazy funk, electro, mutant disco, no wave, leftfield techno & rock and roll.
If that wasn't entertainment enough there'll also be live performances by these carefully selected live acts & bands:
Championed by BBC Radio 1's Nihal, the Sex Patels are a nine piece from the Bradford/Leeds area. Expect to be dazzled by their hypnotic blend of sitar, conga, sax and harmonium fueled cover versions and original material.
Hailing from York, this four piece perform with laptops, decks, gameboys, banjos & anything else they think can make an interesting sound. Their sets mix beats with old junkshop records, kids TV tunes, computer game music and live instruments - along with music taken from classic games consoles played live by the audience and sampled in real-time by the band. The only mario-core show on site...
The Fukawi Tribe
Spit & sawdust punk with a very special vocalist...nuff said
Taking in a diverse range of influences including Lee 'Scratch' Perry, King Tubby, nasty garage & jungle, Vera Lynne and Lancashire understatement, this four piece hailing from darkest Bacup sound like any or all of the following: Lee 'Scratch' Perry if he was from Northern Britain, Captain Beefheart if he liked ragga & dub or Percy Sugden on mushrooms - take your pick!
This versatile there piece from Northern England use double bass, drums and slide guitar to produce top notch funk, delta blues and jazz. Quality stuff.
Add to this Elvis' pink leather sofa, some mad recycled decor, cocktails, table football, pool and a real Dodge City style welcome and you have the recipie fro a memorable weekend in the Trailer Trash saloon bar...yeehaw!
Hopefully we'll see some of you there...Love TT Crew
We'd like to say thanks to all the people who offered to play in the lounge this year - sorry we couldn't squeeze you all in - maybe next time
